Overview

The Batch Report Tool allows analysts to upload a large list of routes and generate high level data for comparing time periods on each route using the NPMRDS data. Route lists are constructed as a formatted .csv file, uploaded to a user folder, then imported into the tools for analysis. Speed, travel time, and hours of delay can be generated for each route for the time period in the formatted .csv or from a user defined time using the menu. Time-relative information can be added by generating data for flexible time period before or after the route's time. This allows analysts to quickly determine the route metrics, like a route's hours of delay a year before, during, and after a project period.

CSV File Format

To use the Batch Report Tool, route data must be formatted locally in a .csv file type. Excel can be used to format data, but it must be saved as a .csv and not .xlxs. The following are the requirements to use a file with the batch uploader:

No Header Row - The .csv must NOT have a header row that titles each column. It should only contain data.

The file must have four columns of data in this order:

  1. Unique ID
    1. This row is a user defined alphanumeric route name unique to this row.
  2. Start Date formatted as "MM/DD/YYYY hh:mm:ss".
  3. End Date formatted as "MM/DD/YYYY hh:mm:ss".
  4. TMCs
    1. This is a list of all TMCs to be aggregated for a single row. A single TMC looks like: 120P12345. Routes with multiple TMCs must be joined with the pipe "|" character and will look like "120P12345|120P12346|120P12347".

An example of a correctly formatted .csv row looks like:

080966_100554011_DELAY REDUCTION_1,08/24/2018 00:00:00,08/24/2018 23:59:00,120+05065|120+05065
